| Christmas in Cumbria |

It’s Christmas in Cumbria and we have been told
to write a short story and all that involves. The shopping the cooking is already done and now you are ready to join in the fun. The room looks lovely with holly so bright and a large bunch of mistletoe just out of sight to greet all the folks as they come through the door with great big kisses and I'll say encore. Enough of that now we'll come back to it later. Now here comes the turkey a very large bird I'm sure we will need it for us all to be served. There’s a large Christmas pudding as well and a glass of good wine will go down very well. I think st this stage I will tell you my age I was ninety two years last September I think you will see and with me agree I've got a great deal to remember. I'm a southerner really but for a number of years in this County of Cumbria which to me has become very dear. So goodbye to you all and I hope it will be a jolly good Christmas for all that you see. |
